Bio
Omar Madden, a Portsmouth, Virginia native, was born into a family of musicians who
influenced his love for music. His mother, a gospel singer and minister, kept his family
active in church every week; from singing in the church choir to dancing at church
events, which exposed him to gospel music and performing anywhere at any time. His
father, a jazz musician, trained Omar’s ear to listen to different types of instruments in
music, to perfect his pitch, and how to harmonize with others. Ultimately, he was
surrounded and influenced by Gospel, Jazz, R&B, and Funk.
After studying the arts in high school and college, Omar adventured to Atlanta, GA to
pursue his dreams of becoming a performer. There, he would book an agency and land
co-stars roles in hit TV-shows such as; STAR on Fox and Dynasty, to name a few. Omar
also became a lead singer in a corporate band which allowed him to travel across the
country to perform and network. His dynamic talent secured him non-stop work in the
Atlanta area and with no doubt, propelled his success as an artist.
With years of hard work under his belt, Omar decided to move to New York to further his career. Soon after his move, COVID shut down all work but Omar remained driven and continued to teach himself more tools that would make him a stronger performer. He learned musical instruments, different styles of music, and even participated in virtual dance classes. Soon after the world re-opened, Omar began booking musicals, proving himself as a true hardworking talent in the industry. He would go on to be in Tony Award winning musicals such as Ain’t Too Proud: The Life & Times of the Temptations 1st National Tour, TINA: The Tina Turner Musical 1st National Tour, and his first Broadway show, Real Women Have Curves. He also released his very first single, Patient, which was met with positive reviews. This is only the beginning for Omar. His musical talents, drive, determination, skill, and ability to light the room has proven to be his greatest
